Move coordination for seniors and families

The move comes first. Senior move managers and movers are booked around the move-in date, and the house sale is timed around the move.

What a senior move manager does

  • Helps decide what fits in the new space, using the floor plan
  • Packs, labels, and oversees the movers
  • Sets up the new room or apartment so it feels like home on day one
  • Hands off what is left to the cleanout and donation plan

You can hire a move manager directly, or I can introduce you to trusted local ones. Either way, I coordinate the house sale around their schedule.

Timing

Care communities often have set move-in windows. Book movers early, move first, then prepare and sell the house once it is empty. An empty house is easier to show and prepare.

Common questions

Should my parent move before the house is sold?

Usually yes. Moving first lets your parent settle in, and the house shows better empty. If money is needed first, see bridge loan options.

Who pays the move manager?

Move managers bill you directly, and they quote before work starts.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as the move-in date is known. Good move managers book up weeks in advance.
